"Making art was something I took for granted when I was a teenager and in my twenties, but I put it aside in my early thirties when I realized that being a curator was an all-consuming job. I picked it up again a few months shy of my sixtieth birthday, and even though the work looks similar to the collages I made in the 1980s, they're infused with all the things I've learned and absorbed osmotically during the thirty years when I made no art at all."
