Because I see so many exhibitions of Latin American art, and because I've decided to devote a section of my blog to covering it as a topic, I'm just going to dive in today with a post of this one painting by Brazilian artist Cristina Canale (b. 1961), who is having her first solo exhibition in the US at Nara Roseler Gallery. The title in Portuguese is A origem da vida (amanhecer nos trópicos), which translates as the Origin of Life (Awakening of the Tropics), and it's from 2021. The exhibition was curated by Luis Perez-Oramas, and focuses almost entirely on Canale's new work. On view through October 30.

I enjoyed reading about Cristina Canale's exhibition because the way her paintings blend figures and abstract shapes makes the artwork feel open to different interpretations. During a demanding semester, I was using management assignment writing help and often looked at art posts to clear my mind after studying, so this exhibition really caught my attention. It reminded me that art does not always need clear answers because sometimes the feelings it creates are what matter most.
